Prof. Dr. Nevin Kartal

Prof.Dr.Nevin Kartal graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 1983. She started working as a PhD student in the Department of Endodontics at the same university and received the PhD degree in Endodontics in 1988. Since 1989, she has been working as a faculty member at Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics. In the same year, she was appointed to the staff of Assistant Professor and served in this role between 1989-1992. She received the tittle of Associate Professor in 1992 and Professor in 1998 at Marmara University. She took part in various academic, administrative boards / positions and vocational training at the university.

She initiated the first international studies on root canal morphology in Turkish population. Her interested topic is ‘’Endodontics in Clinical Practice’’ and ‘’Bleaching’’.

Prof. Kartal won the Eczacıbaşı-Procter & Gamble Oral and Dental Health Science Award in 1993 for her research and scientific publications. She has been awarded many Scientific Publications Incentive Awards from TUBITAK and Marmara University Rectorate. She has more than 200 scientific publications, including international publications as SCI, SCI-Expanded and Pubmed, national publications, papers presented in international and national congresses, and postgraduate training courses. She served as scientific referee for national and international prestigious journals. She has contributed to several Turkish Endodontic textbooks as an author.

Prof.Dr.Nevin Kartal has trained many doctoral students within the scope of Endodontic doctorate program as supervisor. She is a member of Turkish Dental Association (TDB), Turkish Endodontics Association (TED), European Endodontic Society (ESE) and Third World Organization Women in Science (TWOWS) associations. She continues her role as a professor at Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics.
