INTERRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERIODONTICS AND ORTHODONTICS IN ADULT PATIENTS
As the number of adult patients seeking orthodontic treatment increases, clinical situations which require a collaborative work of orthodontists and periodontists are more frequently encountered. This collaboration involves procedures like correction of spacing and flaring of teeth due to alveolar bone loss, and orthodontic treatment of subjects with gingival recessions, to name a few. In this presentation, the highlights of ortho-perio interactions during the treatment of adult patients will be reviewed along with some illustrative clinical examples.
