Prof. Dr. Murat Türkün

I was born in 1965. Graduated from Ege University Faculty of Dentistry in 1987. I defended and completed by PhD thesis titled “Analysis of calcium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite as an irrigation material” in 1994. I became associate professor of endodontics in 1998. Since 2004, I’ve been working as a professor at Ege University Faculty of Dentistry Restorative Dental Treatment Department. I was a board member of İzmir chamber of dentists for five terms. I was a faculty board member for three terms and board member for one term at E.Ü Faculty of Dentistry. I’m still serving as Vice-Dean at E.Ü Faculty of Dentistry. Moreover, I’m the editor of Ege University Faculty of Dentistry Journal. Since 2000, I’ve been taking part in the Scientific Committees established under İzmir Chamber of Dentists. In the meantime, I chaired the scientific committees of 26 International congresses organized by Chambers of Dentists of İzmir and Aegean Region. I’m a member of International Asssociation of Dental Research (IADR), Turkish Society of Endodontics, Balkan Stomatological Society, Society for Restorative Dentistry. I have more than 100 articles on Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics, 70 of which were published in SCI indexed journals. I’ve also delivered many presentations and poster presentations at international and national congresses. I’ve delivered around 50 lectures and courses on Restorative Dental Treatment and endodontics. I still provide lectures on different topics related to restorative dental treatment.
