Behavior Guidance, Sedation and General Anesthesia Practices in ECC Cases

ECC is a high-frequency oral-dental health problem in countries where caries risk analysis ARE not performed and caries prevention programs are not applied systematically, as in our country. The fact that the affected patient group is at a young age, as well as the excessive loss of dental material in the primary teeth and the presence of deep caries make these patients a difficult patient group for pediatric dentists. Pediatric dentists try to meet the need for dental treatment by using behavior guidance techniques and try to give education to the family about preventive measures to all patients. For the cases that are unsuccessful despite all these efforts, pharmacological treatment modalities such as sedation and general anesthesia should be preferred according to the treatment needs of the patient.
