Prof. Dr. Sırmahan Çakarer

Sırmahan Çakarer was born in 1979 in İstanbul. She studied at İstanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1997-2002. She completed her PhD and speciality education at Oral Dental and Maxillofacial Department in 2002-2008. After completing her PhD on distraction osteogenesis in 2008, she completed her fellowship at Münster University Research Hospital on maxillofacial trauma and bone deformities. In 2012, she was an observer at Boston University Dental School Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department to improve her experience in the field of TMJ surgery and orthognatic surgery. She received her title of associate professor in 2012 and professor in 2020. Having national and international presentations and publications regarding maxillofacial surgery practice, Sırmahan Çakarer is the secretary general of the Turkish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. At present, she conducts her studies at İstanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, Oral Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery Department.
