Myths and Facts about Porcelain Laminate Veneer Cementation

In today’s dentistry, porcelain laminate veneers (PLV) is one of the main minimally invasive treatments that provide esthetics and function with minimally invasive approach. To have long-term success with maximum esthetics, biomechanical-optic features should be used in the most appropriate way and adhesive technologies should be used at optimum level.

Mistakes are frequently made due to PLV cementation where maximum attention should be given to adhesive features. In this presentation, myths and facts about adhesion features and cementation stages needed for long-term success will be presented in the light of esthetic expectations.

Yasemin Kulak Özkan graduated from Marmara University in 1987. She became a research fellow in the same faculty at Prosthetics Department. She received her title as Associate Professor in 1996 and Professor in 2001. Serving as vice-dean in 2004-2007, Prof. Özkan was appointed as the dean of Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in 2014. She’s still the dean of the faculty and head of Prosthetics Department. She has more than 60 publications in prestigious journals and 5 books published by international publishing houses. She’s still the president of TPID (Turkish Prosthodontics and Implantology Association) and member of ITI and MINEC.
