Reattachment of fractures tooth fragments: A Clinical Update
Reattachment of fractured tooth fragments is a viable and established treatment option with predictable clinical success. This lecture will discuss the basic adhesion strategies for bonding to enamel and dentin, and will then focus on retentive preparation techniques to reinforce adhesion of the fractured tooth fragments. Tips and tricks of fragment reattachment procedures will be demonstrated in a variety of clinical scenarios including crown fractures requiring various grades of pulpal management, late referral cases with crown displacement, shade selection strategies and correct fragment alignment techniques in a pictorial, step-by-step format.
Dr. Cehreli is professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Hacettepe University, where he has been for most of his career. He has published over 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals, has co-authored in several book chapters, and his publications have been cited extensively. Dr. Cehreli has also served as a reviewer or editorial board member to many international scientific journals. He is an active member of American Association of Pediatric Dentistry and International Association of Dental Research. He is director of the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT), and has been the Chair of IADT’s education committee since 2017. Dr. Cehreli has published extensively in the field of Pediatric restorative dentistry, pediatric endodontics and dental traumatology, and has lectured throughout Europe, Americas and Asia and Africa on those topics.
